Danish honey brand Helt (‘hero’ in Danish) has unveiled another innovative flavoured honey to the UK market.

The latest variety is Helt Honey with Mint, which joins the existing range of Helt Honey Naked, Raspberry, Sea Buckthorn, Chilli, Hazelnut & Cocoa, Liquorice, Ginger, Cranberry and Cinnamon.

“It’s taken a little longer than we wanted,” commented Anthony Lee, company founder, “but we’ve now found a perfect peppermint which infuses its cool flavour notes into the very heart of our honey.”

Beekeeping Lee, an Englishman who lives in Denmark, has taken inspiration from Scandinavian gastronomy in a bid to make honey more interesting and relevant to modern lives.

“For far too long honey has been geared at an older shopper profile,” he said, “and yet its nutritionally dense make-up means its ideally suited to younger, healthier living types, perennial cold sufferers and home cooking enthusiasts.”
