Holland & Barrett has launched a range of smaller size whey protein lines, reports The Grocer.

The retailer told the food industry weekly that the 250g own-label products – priced at £9.99 – were developed as a direct result of VAT being imposed on sports nutrition products last year. This, it says, has pushed the price of popular 1.2kg tubs to over £50 and “hit sales hard for everyone”.
