Nom Foods has created a new variety of popcorn, Tomato Pesto, in a bid to provide a taste of Italian sunshine in a guilt-free snack.

At 99 calories per bag, the coconut-oil popped popcorn is 100% organic, as well as gluten-, dairy and nut-free.

As with the other variants – Simply Salted, Salted Maple and Cinnamon Maple variants – the new flavour is made using wholegrain corn, hand-popped in the UK in artisan kettles.

It is certified by the Soil Association and The Vegan Society and all ingredients are ethically sourced.

Steph Croft-Simon, the brand’s founder commented: “We worked really hard on creating an innovative new flavour, which offers many unique selling points. Aside from being organic, popped in coconut oil and made without any refined sugars – Tomato Pesto is a really original flavour, which hasn’t been done before. We strive to do things differently and offer customers the complete package; health, taste and convenience.”
