Naturya has refreshed its superfood packaging to give retailers peace of mind that products meet the Food Information for Consumers Regulation (FIR) while at the same time boosting shelf appeal.

To ensure full compliance with the regulation which came into force in December, the entire range has been re-tested and up-to-date nutritional profiles used on-pack.

“Meeting these regulations has given us a great opportunity to showcase to customers just how nutrient-rich our range is, while giving retailers the reassurance that the products they stock are fully compliant with all EU laws,” says Dr Victoria Hare, R&D manager at Naturya Limited.

“To comply with the legislation, nutrients can only be listed on the label if they are present in significant quantities. We believe this will make it easier for customers to compare products across the health category, and will lead to fewer misleading claims.”

Features of the updated packaging include: bolder use of ‘organic’ on front-of-pack; clearer nutritional information presented in the new FIR-approved format; and serving suggestions on the back of pack.

Naturya’s current ten-strong range comprises: Organic Acai Powder; Organic Barleygrass Powder; Natural Chia Seeds; Organic Chlorella Powder; Organic Cocoa Nibs; Organic Hemp Protein Powder; Organic Lucuma Powder; Organic Maca Powder; Organic Spirulina Powder; and Organic Wheatgrass Powder.
