The winners of the FreeFrom Food Awards 2011 were announced at a reception in London yesterday evening (April 6).

Organised by www.foodmatters.com,  the awards, now in their fourth year, have grown from small beginnings to become a major fixture in the freefrom year.

Commenting on the Awards, Antony Worrall Thompson, said: “I have been involved with the FreeFrom Food Awards from the start and am really delighted at the way they have grown. FreeFrom is becoming such an important part of food-thinking for all of us these days that it is important to have a reliable, independent guide to freefrom excellence – and the awards provide just that.”

The biggest award of the evening — the FAIR Trophy for the Best Free-From Food 2011 — went to Doves Farm for its Gluten and Wheat Free White Self-raising Flour Blend. Dobes Farm’s Claire Marriage collected the award from Antony Worrall Thompson (pictured).
