New brand Buddha Water is taking advantage of the ‘superwater’ trend with the launch of a first-of-its kind range of naturally flavoured drinks which blend lightly sparkling water with pure Scandinavian birch sap.

The six varieties are: Hibiscus, which has delicate floral overtones; zesty Lemon & Lime; Mango; Cherry; Cranberry; and Original, said to have an unexpected appley zing. The drinks, available in 250ml cans, contain no artificial flavourings or sweeteners.

The birch sap has a slightly sweet taste with what is described as a gentle woody aroma and contains saponins, as well as being rich in vitamin C and potassium.

“We are really excited to be launching Buddha Water in the UK,” commented Catherine Mulcahy, CEO of distributor YourTonic Ltd. “We really do believe it will be the next superdrink! Buddha Water is a unique soft drink that is a natural alternative to the usual sugary offerings, and alcohol – which has added health benefits too. The perfect thirst quencher – its six flavours mean that there is something to suit all taste buds, and every occasion. More than a birch water drink, it is the refreshingly different soft drink we’ve all have been waiting for.”
