The Jojoba Company, based in New South Wales, Australia, has now launched its 100% Natural Australian Jojoba oil onto the UK market.

Ian Turner, who founded The Jojoba Company in 2008, planted his first crop of jojoba on the family estate over a decade ago in order to ‘revolutionise’ the skincare industry.

The multi-function cold-pressed oil is said to be beneficial for conditions including dry and cracked skin, eczema, dermatitis, psoriasis, cold sores, ageing skin, stretch marks and acne. It can also be used as a hair treatment for dry and split hair to add shine and softness.

The International Rosacea Foundation has recommended using jojoba as a natural treatment for rosacea as it hypoallergenic and helps with skin healing as well as balancing sebum excretion.

According to the company, research has shown that jojoba plant wax esters are almost identical to the wax esters that make up to 30% of healthy human skin sebum and this helps the esters penetrate deep into the skin to protect it from solar radiation and moisture loss.

Described by the company as ‘the hero ingredient’, Jojoba is naturally enriched with antioxidants, omega 6 and 9 fatty acids, and vitamins A, D and E.
