Sustainable health and beauty pioneer Weleda was delighted to welcome Erewash Member of Parliament Adam Thompson to its new Derbyshire logistics centre at Etiquette Park in Ilkeston.

The new premises opened last year to house Weleda’s customer care team and state of the art high-bay warehouse. The new facility, which totals 23,793sq ft, has capacity to store over 4.75 million stock items and handle over 75,000 dispatches a year, delivering to Weleda’s retailers nationwide as well as online orders for consumers around the UK. The facility at Etiquette Park also processes orders for the many Derbyshire-manufactured products to other Weleda companies and distributors around the world, from the USA and Europe to Japan, Australia and New Zealand. The new offices and warehouse have enabled Weleda to gear up for growth, improving efficiency and providing bright and modern new working environments for staff.

The second development phase for Weleda’s site at Etiquette Park has now begun, designing and building a brand-new Production facility for the health and beauty products that are manufactured in Derbyshire.

Weleda’s managing director Jayn Sterland was pleased to share these new developments with local MP Adam Thompson: “It was good to meet our new local MP Adam Thompson and introduce him to Weleda, perhaps one of the most unique companies in his constituency! We enjoyed showing him the differing aspects of the business, from our lifestyle shop on the Heanor Road and our pharmaceutical manufacturing site, to our brand-new warehouse and customer care centre at Etiquette Park where we will be re-homing our production unit later this summer. We enjoyed sharing the news of our Centenary year, and we look forward to welcoming Adam back to Weleda over the summer when we will be celebrating 100 years in the UK!”

MP Adam Thompson commented: “I very much enjoyed my visit to Weleda, which provides good, local jobs at their base in Ilkeston. It’s particularly exciting that Weleda are looking to expand with their new logistics centre at Etiquette Park, and I hope Erewash remains a good place for them to work and do business for many years to come.”
