Wellness brand Aduna has introduced a duo of organic multipurpose beauty oils produced using the cold-pressed seeds of the African superfoods baobab and moringa.
Aduna Baobab Oil for dry skin is produced from the seeds of wild-harvested organic baobab fruit from Africa’s ‘Tree of Life’. Rich in antioxidants and essential fatty acids – linoleic (omega-6) and oleic (omega-9) – it penetrates the epidermis, restoring and repairing the skin membrane. The high concentration of linoleic and oleic acids aids skin regeneration, mimicking the skin’s hydration mechanism, reducing lines and improving uneven skin tone. The baobab is sustainably sourced from local communities and a non-profit foundation in Mozambique.
Aduna Moringa Oil is for problem skin and uses organic cold-pressed seeds of the moringa tree, known as ‘The Miracle Tree’ in Africa due to its healing properties. Antioxidant-rich and high in fatty acids – including up to 75% oleic acid (omega-9) and palmitic acids (omega-7) – it locks in moisture and protects against environmental stressors, helping reduce the signs of ageing and leaving skin, hair and nails strong and supple. It is also antiseptic, antimicrobial and anti-inflammatory, helping counteract breakouts, treat skin conditions and reduce redness and puffiness. The moringa is sustainably sourced from small-scale producers in Malawi.
“We developed our cold-pressed baobab and moringa oils in response to the fast-growing demand for 100% natural and organic, sustainably-sourced health and beauty products,” explains Andrew Hunt, the brand’s co-founder and CEO. “Baobab and moringa oils are already used as active botanicals in many popular cosmetic products, so we wanted to give our customers the opportunity to access these ‘super-ingredients’ in their purest form. Rich in emollients and antioxidants, our oils can be used as a moisturizer for face and body, hair conditioner, cuticle cream, make-up remover and cleanser – satisfying consumers’ thirst for natural, multi-purpose beauty solutions and driving category growth for retailers.”
Organic and vegan-friendly, the sustainably sourced oils can be used on their own or mixed into other personal care products.
Aduna Beauty Oils are quickly and easily absorbed into the skin without feeling greasy or oily and are suitable for all ages, skin types and hair types, particularly those with dry skin and dull hair.
