Swedish brand Suntribe AB has launched its first vegan, non-whitening facial sunscreen featuring the mineral UV-filter zinc oxide in a bid to ‘open up a new avenue towards safe and environmentally friendly sun protection’.

Based on vegan candelilla and carnauba wax, the new Suntribe Organic Day Cream SPF 20 also features nourishing jojoba and almond oil. It is free from preservatives, additives and perfumes, and produced using all-natural and certified organic ingredients. The brand says that compared to an industry average of 27 ingredients, the new product contains just nine ingredients.

“With our new day cream we want to make it easy for everyone to include safe and natural sun protection into their morning routine,” says Julia Beyer, Suntribe co-founder. “It is also important to us to offer the day cream in an aluminium tube instead of using a plastic packaging. We already offer seven plastic-free products and will launch a new packaging made from sugar cane this May to decrease the environmental footprint of our cosmetics.”
