Natural beauty brand Faith in Nature has discontinued its propolis-containing products in order to become 100% vegan.
“Like many high street brands, we are making sure we cater for the growing vegan market,” explains managing director, Joy Parkinson. “Pret a Manger, Starbucks and Costa are all offering plant-based milks and vegan foods. Vegans now also have more choice on the high street, with Marks & Spencer and Boots selling vegan sandwiches. There is no reason why the beauty sector should be any different.”
George Gill, CEO at The Vegan Society, said: “As the majority of Faith in Nature products already carry our Vegan Trademark, we are very pleased the company has moved to eliminate all animal products from their range, making them suitable for vegans.
“Offering vegan products makes clear commercial sense – businesses are opening a potential market up to not only half a million vegans in Britain, but also to a million more vegetarians and those people who simply want to make an effort to make more ethical purchasing decisions.
“It is promising to see an increasing number of people wanting to make more compassionate choices to purchase products that have not been tested on animals and are vegan-friendly.”
