Beating hundreds of small UK businesses to the accolade, Welsh health and beauty brand Naissance has won Exporting Business of the Year in Amazon’s inaugural Small Business Awards.
Naissance founder Jem Skelding set up the health and beauty brand in his bedroom in 2005, selling a collection of ethical, sustainable and organic skincare products. The business now ships products to customers in 90 countries, with packaging in five languages.
“Everyone in the team at Naissance is focused on giving our customers a great experience wherever they are in the world — it’s something that we talk about on a daily basis,” says Skelding (pictured), commenting on the award. “Winning Amazon’s Exporting Small Business of the Year is a huge reward for that effort and the whole team is very proud to have been recognized by our customers.”
The new UK awards – which also honoured Small Business of the Year (Gamely Games) and Innovative Small Business of the Year (Disposable Green) – aim to shine a spotlight on the most inspiring small British brands selling on the online marketplace. The awards were voted for by tens of thousands of customers via Amazon.co.uk.
The award prize includes six months of dedicated account management, £10,000 of Amazon advertising credit, and a trip to Amazon’s Seattle head office to meet senior business leaders.
