Green People’s new Moisturising After Sun with Natural Insect Repellent hydrates and cools the skin after sun exposure, while also protecting against insect bites.
The skincare solution incorporates Citrepel75, a natural insect repellent derived from lemon eucalyptus, a plant rich in insect repellent molecules, including the active compound p-menthane-3,8-diol (PMD). This helps to protect skin from midges, ticks, black flies, leeches and mosquitoes for up to four hours after one application.
The after sun also includes saccharide isomerate, derived from kernel corn, to enhance skin hydration and strengthen the skin barrier; aloe vera to soothe, hydrate and help support skin healing; and anti-inflammatory chamomile to calm the skin.
The DEET-free, vegan after sun is made with 85% natural and organic plant extracts and essential oils and is suitable for use on the face and body by adults and children aged six months and over.
Infused with a fresh peppermint scent with an undertone of citrus balanced with lavender, the Moisturising After Sun with Natural Insect Repellent comes in a travel-friendly 100ml tube made from sugar cane plastic.
Commenting on the launch, Green People founder Charlotte Vøhtz says: “I visited Ghana with my daughter on a trip to meet our shea butter suppliers and whilst there, I saw young children waving branches of lemon eucalyptus. I soon discovered that this plant was naturally rich in insect repellent molecules including PMD. I was so impressed by the natural insect repellent properties of this plant that I used it to create my DEET-free after sun.”
