Bios Line, the health and wellness company which owns the BioKap hair dye brand, has announced a new initiative to help support the environment with Treedom remote tree planting organization.
Through the collaboration, Bios Line has planted 500 trees of different species in Africa and South America with the ambition of benefiting the environment in several ways, including counteracting soil erosion, enriching biodiversity, protecting soil fertility and creating sustainable ecosystems.
The project also focuses on the social benefits for local communities in terms of food resources and economic opportunities. All trees are planted directly by local farmers, who will take care of them over time and will benefit from their fruits.
This initiative is just a small piece within a group of projects to protect the environment in which we are engaged
Every single tree is planted, photographed and geolocated to make the project as transparent as possible.
Commenting on the collaboration, Alessia Usai, senior export manager at Bios Line, says: “This initiative is just a small piece within a group of projects to protect the environment in which we are engaged, and which reflect the philosophy behind our work: the respect for nature and, more generally, the protection of the planet, as it is precisely from nature that our products are born.
“Treedom is an Italian company with international appeal, just like Bios Line. We chose this organization for its experience in the creation of sustainable ecosystems and for the commitment to involving local farmers communities, ensuring food sovereignty and income opportunities over time. Thanks to its business model, in 2014 Treedom became part of the Certified B Corporations, a network of companies that stand out for high environmental and social performance.”
