Bamford has launched two new fine fragrances in collaboration with independent perfumer Lyn Harris, housed in the brand’s signature green glass bottles and made with 80% organic alcohol.
Inspired by founder Carole Bamford’s love of nature, the two fragrances – in Woodland Moss and Wild Meadow scents – are evocative of her time spent exploring the English countryside throughout the changing seasons.
Woodland Moss, true to its name, has the earthy aroma of patchouli, balanced out by notes of sage, angelica and rose. The brand says it ‘pays homage to the diverse and intimate landscape of an English wood’.
We wanted to capture that feeling of transportation: to immerse the wearer in the tapestry of aromas
Wild Meadow offers a more vibrant fragrance, ‘evocative of English springtime’. With notes of aromatic rosemary and sweet honeysuckle, this version is layered with hints of citrus and ‘grounded with the sophisticated undertones’ of warm vetiver.
“Smell is such a powerful and evocative sense. With Bamford’s eau de parfums we wanted to capture that feeling of transportation: to immerse the wearer in the tapestry of aromas from a mossy woodland or a bright spring meadow. These are timeless, elegant scents – layered, rich and uplifting, much like the natural ingredients in which they are so deeply rooted,” comments Lady Bamford.
