Three-time London Marathon winner and lifelong advocate of health food stores, Paula Radcliffe MBE is backing the Indy Health Week campaign, launched by Viridian Nutrition, which runs this month from 23-31 October.

World Record-holder Radcliffe is keen to raise awareness of the expertise, support and care they provide by supporting the week-long campaign designed to celebrate the UK’s independent health stores.

Ahead of the campaign’s kick-off Radcliffe visited Sheaf Street Health Store in Daventry and spoke about her involvement in the campaign with Cheryl Thallon, Viridian founder and MD. “I’m absolutely thrilled to be involved in Indy Health Week and supporting local independent health stores,” Radcliffe said.

“Over the past 18 months, I think people have become more invested than ever in supporting their health through the right diet and supplementation, quality sleep and by making positive lifestyle choices – all things which are championed by independent health stores. It was through advice from local health stores that I learned the vital components of a healthy diet to support my lifestyle, especially in the areas of sport, studying and recovery.”

Commenting on the campaign, Thallon adds: “Health food stores are at the heart of everything we do at Viridian; I trust that Indy Health Week will encourage more people to enjoy the services and support they offer. Afterall, if we love the NHS, we must start by loving ourselves and doing our best to stay healthy.”

As part of the campaign, consumers can download a voucher from the Indy Health Week website and visit participating indie health stores to get a free Foundations of Nutrition sample pack worth over £20. Supplied by Viridian Nutrition, the packs include three supplements comprising a multivitamin, probiotic and omega oil, along with a book by qualified nutritionist and Viridian technical services manager Jenny Carson.
