Offering a wholly flavourless formula and promising to put an end to the ‘disgusting’ taste of traditional products, US brand Medterra has launched its CBD oils onto the UK market.

Boasting sales of over a million bottles last year in the States, the line is based on coconut oil and contains 99% pure CBD. It is available in three strengths: 500mg, 1000mg and 3,000mg.

Medterra’s initial UK line-up also comprises a range of CBD gel capsules, including lifestyle products designed to take CBD into new categories in store. These include a Monthly Wellness formula specifically designed for women to help ease the discomfort of period pains using a combination of 25mg pure CBD, valerian root and cramp bark. In addition, the brand will be releasing a range of CBD-infused cooling creams.

“We are extremely proud to be launching in the UK,” says Koen Ridder, president of Medterra Europe. “Since reaching market leader status in the US, we are positive about getting a good presence in the British market and providing consumers with the highest quality affordable CBD products.”

Medterra’s hemp is grown and extracted under the strict guidelines of the Kentucky Department of Agriculture Industrial Hemp Pilot Program. Each product bottle allows users to scan a QR code on packaging, enabling them to access lab results showcasing the latest CBD research, as well as track the production process.

Medterra will roll out a national marketing campaign that includes collaborating with artist Alessandra Tortone to create innovative window displays (see below), as well as influencer campaigns which will see the brand add to a US celebrity roster that includes professional surfer Alana Blanchard and MMA fighter Aaron Pico.
