To coincide with Menopause Awareness Month, a new campaign spearheaded by Viridian Nutrition is highlighting the importance of health stores in providing diet and lifestyle expertise for those going through menopause.
The national campaign – Manage Your Menopause, You’ve Got This – is designed to help women take control of their menopause and get the support they need to thrive during this stage of life, and as part of the initiative, Viridian’s head of nutrition Aimée Benbow has written The Menopause Journal – a practical tool to help women measure and track their symptoms and build a personalized wellness programme.
The book includes information on symptoms, nutritional support, food and supplements, and aims to guide readers through the dietary implications, highlighting independent health stores as great sources of advice and support. It also features goal planning and wellbeing exercises as well as lifestyle advice and a 90-day journal to track the impact of the treatment plan.
Launching alongside The Menopause Journal is a new Viridian supplement, Menopause Complex, formulated to help tackle the most common menopause symptoms, with herbal extracts including a standardized extract from hops to help with hot flushes, sweating, restlessness and irritability. Also included is sage to support physical and mental comfort, lemon balm for relaxation and to support sleep, and saffron for emotional balance and improved libido.
“Everyone has a unique experience of the menopause and Viridian believe health stores are at the heart of enabling women to take control of this natural life stage through education and personalised support,” says Benbow. “In addition to the launch of The Menopause Journal and Menopause Complex, Viridian has created a whole range of resources and materials to enable retailers to positively educate their customers and help address menopausal symptoms through nutritional advice.”
