Continuing its mission to bring Korean flavours to the West, Yumchi has introduced new Gochugaru Chilli Flakes to its offer, described as being ‘the essential Korean ingredient’ and perfect addition to its existing line of Kimchi.
The main ingredient in the Korean dish bulgogi, Gochugaru Chilli Flakes are smoky, sweet and fruity, with a hot kick, and can also be used in stir-fries, soups and noodles for anyone who wants to whip up some ‘kick-ass Korean food’, says Yumchi.
“Balancing tradition and innovation in sustainable food practice is fundamental to our philosophy and we are happy to launch the vegan-friendly Yumchi Gochugaru Chilli Flakes, packaged in a plastic-free eco-pouch,” says brand founder and chef, Lily Hirasawa. “Chillies are central to Korean life … a distinctive deep ruby red, spicy-sweet variety, we naturally picked ours Korean Gochugaru. It’s an absolute must for any kimchi enthusiast or those wanting to add an authentic East Asian flavour to their meals.”
We want to encourage people to
really engage with the fermenting process in their own homes and reconnect with the pace of nature
The brand has also launched its own online store to reach customers around the UK and beyond ‘with best quality organic kimchi’, including Traditional Napa Kimchi and Radiant Radish Kimchi, produced using an authentic family recipe.
In addition, the website offers a host of delicious kimchi recipes and informative blog posts about gut health, female empowerment and slow living. “We want to encourage people to really engage with the fermenting process in their own homes and reconnect with the pace of nature,” says Hirasawa, adding that a home fermenting kit will soon be available.
