Natural breakfast and snack brand Simplyseedz has seen its Porridge Pots make it to the Winter Olympics Beijing after they were chosen to be included within the Team GB kit.
Simplyseedz founder Cathryn Zielinski explains how the deal came about: “Towards the back end of 2020 I received an email enquiry from the senior performance nutritionist for Para Nordic athletes in GB Snowsports for porridge samples. The aim was for the athletes to sample and provide feedback, ultimately with a view to supplying for winter 2020/2021 events. Unfortunately, due to COVID-19 winter sports events got cancelled and we didn’t get to supply.
“Jump forward to December 2021 and I got a phone call out of the blue advising me that my porridge pots had been highly recommended to the Team GB British Olympic Association and that they would be placing an order! The initial order was received to supply participants and attendees – products to be included and distributed with the Winter Olympic team kit. We’ve had three orders thus far!”
The Porridge Pots are available in Apple & Cinnamon, Dark Chocolate & Ginger, Apricot & Cranberry, Date & Apricot & Plain, and the brand has created a special Olympic Porridge Pot Bundle to celebrate it becoming ‘the breakfast of champions’.
