The ProVeg Incubator is looking for pioneering food brands to apply for the chance to take part in its tailor-made accelerator programme and receive funding of up to €200,000, one-on-one expert mentoring and access to an extensive network of industry contacts.
Plant-based, cultured and food-tech companies developing alternatives to animal-based products and ingredients are all eligible to apply to join the next batch of incubator start-ups.
“It is important that the start-ups the ProVeg Incubator supports are aligned with our mission of reducing global animal consumption,” explains Albrecht Wolfmeyer, head of the ProVeg Incubator. “The products or services that they offer should therefore replace conventional animal-based foods with innovative products, ingredients and solutions.
“We look for a strong founding team, innovations that are impactful and scalable, and companies that are defensible – meaning that they can protect their products and concepts from the competition.
“We received a record number of applications to join our previous cohort of start-ups, and I look forward to seeing who will apply to join us in 2021.”

Since its launch in 2018, the ProVeg Incubator has worked with more than 45 companies from around the world – including Better Nature, Vly Foods, Mondarella, Greenwise, Mushlabs, Legendairy Foods, Plantcraft, Cellular Agriculture, Panvega and the nu company – and launched over 40 products.
“The ProVeg Incubator is the best way to accelerate your business,” says Piero Brunetti, founder of Mondarella. “As a result of the programme, we completely changed our strategy for entering the market and we are now selling in supermarkets across Europe – including Lidl, Kaufland, and Penny. The Incubator team introduced us to crucial mentors, investors, and buyers from the food industry, who it would have otherwise been impossible to meet. We are so thankful to have been part of this fantastic programme.”
The deadline for applications is Sunday 7 February 2021, with the programme planned to kick off in April. Interested founders should apply here.
