Ahead of the publication of its Organic Market 2021 report, Soil Association Certification is compiling data concerning sales trends of organic products throughout 2020 – and it needs independent retailers to contribute.

Finn Cottle, trade consultant to the certifier, describes the report as a ‘unique annual publication which looks in detail at the UK and global organic markets, the organic consumer and how organic performs across the different product categories and channels to market’.

“Traditionally there is a lot of information on sales through the supermarkets, however not so much is available within the independent retailer sector. That’s why your help is needed,” she comments.

Until 1 December, independent retailers are being encouraged to complete a short, confidential survey about organic sales at their own stores, ‘to help with the breadth and depth of the data in the report’. Answers should cover the rolling 12 months to the end of October 2020

In exchange for their time, retailers are entitled to a free copy of the report once it launches in February 2021.
