frozen fees

Following an announcement in March that Soil Association Certification would be freezing its annual fee increase in light of the pressure the pandemic has placed on farmers and food suppliers, the charity has now announced that the frozen fees will remain in place for all licensees until 31 March 2021.

Under this continued concession, ‘all core fees for organic schemes across food, farming, beauty and textiles will remain at 2019 levels’.

In further efforts to support small businesses, the certifier will offer free entry (limited to two entries per business) for the 2021 BOOM Awards, which open in December.

We hope this price freeze will allow our certified growers, producers and processors to continue the fantastic work they’ve been doing

Clare McDermott, business development director, Soil Association Certification, comments: “The COVID-19 pandemic has placed unprecedented pressure on businesses, farmers and food suppliers across the supply chain. Soil Association Certification is, and always has been, committed to supporting the organic movement.

“In response to the predicted uncertainty ahead, we hope this price freeze will allow our certified growers, producers and processors to continue the fantastic work they’ve been doing to secure a resilient and sustainable food system – for now and for the future.”
