Interest in organic food ‘skyrockets’

Over the past year online searches for ‘organic food near me’ have skyrocketed by 850% reports waste and recycling management company BusinessWaste.co.uk.

To mark Organic September, the company analyzed a year’s worth of organic-related Google trends, finding that ‘attitudes to quality food are changing’.

Data also showed that searches for ‘organic food delivered’ rose by 350% over the same period.

On a global scale, the research revealed that the most significant increase in interest in organic food over the same period took place in Jamaica, UAE, Australia, Singapore and the Philippines.

Mark Hall, co-founder, BusinessWaste.co.uk comments: “It’s great to see that we’re getting more aware of organic food and expanding the horizons on the food we are consuming. Opting for organic food is better for the environment and helps fight climate change. We hope that more people choose organic food moving forwards.”
