Seedball has introduced a new, interactive product to its collection in time for Easter. The Make your own Seedball kit is described as fun, messy and a brilliant activity for all the family to get involved with during the holidays as an environmentally friendly, chocolate alternative for kids, which will help to encourage a love of nature. Each kit consists of three compostable paper pouches containing bee and butterfly wildflower seeds, clay powder and peat-free compost. By mixing all three ingredients together in a bowl with water, children can create up to 60 seed balls in less than an hour, perfect for a rainy-day activity. Once the seed balls are dry, kids and adults alike can enjoy the experience of scattering them in the garden or in pots and watching them grow. The kit is designed to help educate children about the stages of growing plants and how important they are for our environment in a fun, hands-on way.
Scottish start-up POTR has sealed a six-figure deal with Bloom & Wild after launching ‘the world’s first’ self-watering origami plant pot three years ago. The company has now unveiled a letterbox vase which has been launched exclusively with the online flower delivery company. R&D for the new product was funded by the firm’s recent Scottish EDGE win of £100k. “We worked … to create countless iterations of the product,” says company director, Andrew Flynn. “We are incredibly proud of the result and delighted to be partnering with the incredible team at Bloom & Wild. Often when people send flowers to friends, loved ones or colleagues, they might not know whether that person has the right-sized and shaped vase. Our flat-packed design ensures the recipient has a perfectly suited vase on arrival with their flowers – all with the convenience of a letterbox delivery.”
Weleda’s new limited edition Happiness Aroma Shower gel is fragranced with refreshing lime, grapefruit and sweet notes of mandarin to delight the senses and leave the ‘dreamy scent of summer’ on the skin. “As humans we have an inner affinity to natural scents because natural essential oils originate from living organisms growing in their natural context,” explains Dr Leo Zängerle, Weleda fragrance development centre. “These substances have a multi-layered complexity and can have a more intense impact on our emotions and affect us in a much more holistic manner. Pure essential oils are capable of touching the soul of a person very deeply. They trigger a completely different response compared to artificial scents.” The vegan-friendly formulation is made with gentle plant-based cleansers and has been dermatologically tested for suitability on sensitive skin. It is NATRUE-certified natural, biodegradable and certified climate neutral.
