The winners of the first ever Free From Christmas Awards 2021 have been announced, with Cocoa Libre and Three Spirit winning the top honours of Free From Christmas Food Product of the Year and Free From Christmas Drink of the Year respectively.
Cocoa Libre’s Dark Mint Chocolate Penguins were declared ‘a perfect stocking filler’ for Christmas, with ‘a touch of class, and very appealing to both kids and adults alike’, while Three Spirit’s Starter Pack shone with its ‘quirky, unusual, innovative flavours’ which judges ‘would welcome as a gift, any day of the year’.
Tesco took the Christmas Retailer of the Year prize and securing Best Small Independent Brand Award was first time Awards’ participant Weddell & Turner. Meanwhile established free-from company Kinnerton won Best Large Independent Brand, partly thanks to its innovative top-14 allergens free brand, NOMO Chocolate.
“Twice as many entries as we expected was a fantastic outcome for our first ever Christmas edition,” said Free From Awards’ CEO, Cressida Langlands. “There were nerves when we decided to launch these spin-off awards in the middle of summer, but they’ve been so successful and popular that we’ll definitely welcome them back in 2022!”
