Hosted by Neal’s Yard Remedies at London’s King’s Road store, the launch brought together an array of industry faces, including Neal’s Yard’s Peter Kindersley, and a number of this year’s coveted Top 20, such as Kinetic’s Kim Barani, Bulldog’s Simon Duffy and Rhodri Ferrier, and Green People’s Charlotte Vohtz.In at number one in the Top 20 for the sec- ond year running are beauty journalists, Josephine Fairley and Sarah Stacey. Fairley commented: “My con-gratulations go to the publishers of the Yearbook, which I per- sonally find incredibly useful as a resource myself, and Sarah and I are honoured to be included again.”
Addressing guests at the launch, Yearbook editor Julia Brandon, said: “We’ve reached some real milestones for the natural beauty industry this year. We had the launch of the first ever beauty prod- ucts to carry the Fairtrade Mark, and we saw the much anticipat- ed release of not one but two new certification standards for natural and organic beauty products in the form of Cosmos and NaTrue.
“As an industry we’ve really started to stop and listen to what shoppers are asking for — attractive, clean, results-driven products that have been ethically sourced and are kind to both ourselves and the planet”
