New website, campaign for The Vegan Society

Today sees the launch of The Vegan Society’s revamped website including its new branding image revealed in time for its 70th anniversary in November.

The charity says the contemporary new look is designed to promote the vegan way of life from a fresh perspective. “While we hold true to the spirit our founders and share their vision, our activities have adjusted direction. We wish to rapidly reach new audiences and help many more people make a lasting transition to veganism.

With the updated site comes a new campaign, Love Vegan, which is being fronted by actress Roxy Shahidi who plays Leyla Harding in TV’s Emmerdale. The campaign emphasizes that vegan products are for everybody regardless of whether they are vegan or not.

“Veganism is for everyone, anytime, whatever our lifestyle,” The Vegan Society points out. “There are so many aspects of the vegan lifestyle that can be adopted by anyone wanting to make a difference, with or without going vegan.”

Shahidi has followed a vegan diet since she was 21 and, like most other vegans, her veganism isn’t just about food but also about other areas of her life including cosmetics. She says that you don’t have to be vegan to love vegan lipstick and that most people probably have a vegan lipstick in their make-up bag without even realising it.

“When you see The Vegan Society’s sunflower trademark on a lipstick it’s incredibly reassuring… I’m looking forward to seeing it on even more make-up brands that are out there,” Shahidi adds.

Roxy Shahidi will be appearing in the Natural Food Kitchen with Cordon Vert tutor Jane Hughes at Natural & Organic Products Europe on Sunday 13 April where they will present a fun vegan cooking demo.
