Food for the Brain is making significant strides in their mission to prevent cognitive decline and Alzheimer’s through optimum nutrition and education. The not-for-profit charity work to inform organisations and empower individuals to change their diet and lifestyle and take greater control of their own mental health.
Their Cognitive Function Test is the first-ever free, validated, digital version of what gets measured in memory clinics, which alongside their health and lifestyle questionnaire helps them to assess your future ‘dementia risk Index’ and advise you on key steps to dementia-proof your diet and lifestyle.
Building on success for our children
Over the last decade we’ve witnessed alarming trends in mental health among young people, including rising cases of anxiety, depression, ASD and ADHD, with one in six classified as neurodivergent and one in six in need of special education.
Now, Food for the Brain are taking everything they’ve learnt so far and applying it to helping children. With your help they are building a personalised, interactive support system for parents, children and teenagers and hope to launch COGNITION® for Smart Kids & Teens early in 2025.
Led by Natalie Coghlan, the newly appointed Head of COGNITION® for Smart Kids & Teens and backed by a top team of leading scientists and children’s mental health experts, Food for the Brain are launching a programme that offers the opportunity to reverse this worrying trend and help children and teenagers achieve their full potential in emotional, mental, and cognitive well-being.
We invite you to watch this short film from Natalie outlining how we can help children and teens aged 5 to 17 become more mentally and cognitively robust – our vision for the future.
Food for the Brain need to raise £40,000 to complete this project, to make sure our younger generations have the best possible tools to survive.
This is only £400 from 100 supportive organisations, companies or people and with a minimum donation of £400, you will not only become a supporting organisation of FFB, but also join the prestigious list of SPONSA DONNA campaign supporters. This contribution represents just 1p per mile in our 40,000-mile Sponsa Donna challenge sailing around the world to create a future of well-nourished and well-informed smart kids and teens.
